We
will also train your own risk facilitators, from beginner
level through to highly specialised and advanced. While
we cover a broad spectrum, we specialise in giving risk
facilitation at all levels ourselves, as well as training
your facilitators to suit your needs.
So
what do we mean by facilitation? - To quote the IAF
(International Association of Facilitators) facilitation
is the art of:
"Unlocking the power of a group through dialogue
and pursuit of clarity; engaging active participation
and embracing the richness of diverse perspective.
Through facilitation the multifaceted potential of a
team is released. By utilising solid managerial know-how
and by evoking individual and collective leadership,
good facilitation enables solutions where difficulties
appear insurmountable.
It is a fitting discipline for complex times."
Why
use a Risk Facilitator?
As it says in the above definition - we unlock the power
of your group through dialogue and pursuit of clarity.
We engage in active participation and embrace and leverage
the diversity of the group assembled. We embrace the
opportunity with warmth, energy and an unconditional
regard for the power and competence of the individuals
within the group.
Our facilitation services help you avoid the pitfalls
of common meetings. We act as your guide and will help
all participants focus on the tasks at hand.
The risk facilitator has experience of and is trained
in all aspects of risk management. He/she will actively
encourage collaboration through non-adversarial techniques
so all group members exchange information in an environment
where people are much more likely to help develop and
then implement solutions rather than obstruct or oppose
them.
The result is an extremely efficient and productive
decision-making process. Typically we will capture more
views, data, suggestions and solutions in a third of
the usual time, resulting in an extremely efficient
investment not only in terms of actual costs but also
in terms of opportunity costs gained.
What
can our facilitators do?
Similar to the general facilitation services we offer,
the choice of how much we do is up to you and which
level of service you require. As an example, for full
service our facilitators will consult with the meeting
sponsor (and customer/participants as appropriate) to
agree the session(s) objectives and plan the method
and approach for achieving them. They will write this
up into a project definition and issue it to the sponsor.
Other stakeholders may need to be consulted as appropriate.
Once all is agreed (which we understand can take from
a few minutes to weeks, depending on the organisation
and issues to be resolved), they will make all necessary
arrangements to convene the meeting. We are happy to
work with various venues, ranging from the local hotel
conference room through to purpose built suites to cruise
liners!
For the participants, we can carry out pre-meeting interviews
and workshops to enhance the outcomes of the main event,
even make their travel and accommodation arrangements
from anywhere in the world.
When the meeting/event is convened our facilitator will
manage the group during their sessions to help keep
their focus on achieving the objectives at hand.
At the conclusion of the event we will quickly write
up the output and distribute to all, handle revision/new
input and deliver the final documentation as required.
We will also arrange follow up work to track the success
of the event and delivery of benefits. This can then
lead into coaching and mentoring services if you require.
